How to dress like a sugar baby on a small budget.

You do not need to spend a lot of money to dress like a sugar baby. You do not need to buy Chanel suits and Christian Louboutin So Kate pumps. However, you do need to buy muted colors and pieces that are not too tight-fitting or scant. The look you want to go for is elegant and classy. You want to appear like a woman who is expensive and used to being taken care of.

1. First, look for quality pieces with muted colors in your closet. Get rid of everything else.

Okay. No need to run to the store just yet. You may, in fact, already have some pieces suitable for sugar baby outfits in your closet right now!

Go to your closet and look for the following items
  • blazers
  • workplace dresses
  • straight-legged and skinny jeans (no holes or busted knees!)
  • plain t-shirts (no logos or other details!)
  • feminine blouses
Now, from that pile, remove the following:
  • garments with too much detail (such as lots of zippers, grommets, and excessive ruffles)
  • garments with multiple patterns (such as blouses with both stripes and flowers)
  • garments in loud colors (such as bright yellow, hot pink, and royal purple or royal blue)
Now, you should be left with clothing in muted colors such as a simple black blazers, grey crewneck sweaters, plain white t-shirts, nude-colored dresses. Neutral, simple, and sophisticated clothing gives you a high-end look. Loud, garish clothing looks appears crude, crass, and "tasteless". If you want to attract a man of means, leave behind neon colors. Now, I'm not saying there's no place for color in your wardrobe at all, but nudes, greys, and black give off the appearance of a girl about her business.

2. Buy sheath dresses from Zara and H&M

Lord & Taylor, $49.99
Sheath dresses are a must for sugaring. Here's why: they are modest! If you want to attract a man of means, wear feminine forms that don't appear too sexy. Men are programmed to be attracted to scantily-clad women that show off their "assets". But the wealthier men - the ones that can actually afford long-term arrangements - want women that they can proudly bring around their colleagues and well-to-do friends. This means that you need to dress "classy". And a sheath dress is both classy and can be flattering.

Ideally, you'll want one a sheath dress that comes right beneath the knees. Additionally, sheath dresses are what you'll want to wear during the daytime if you're out running errands or meeting someone for lunch. Again, the key is to be feminine but modest. The sexier and more form-fitting dresses are appropriate for cocktail bars or date nights.

3. Buy an inspired Balmain blazer with gold buttons.

Boohoo.com, $30
Fake sugar daddies, salt, and splenda that can't afford you will think twice when they seeing you wearing a high-end blazer like this. But they're a great way to dress up jeans. Because, let's face it, when you're working on finding a sugar daddy, it's tiring to dress to the nines all the time. A sharp-looking blazer is a great way to dress up a low-cut tee paired with skinny jeans.

But at around $3K, who can really afford an authentic Balmain blazer!? Thank goodness there are so many comparable fakes! Lots of brands like Zara, ASOS, and PrettyLittleThings have come out with their version of the famed Balmain blazer. I prefer the one made by Zara because it's a dead-ringer. But if you can't spring the dough ($150), look for a gently used one on eBay and Poshmark!

4. Buy a Chanel-inspired quilted bag with a gold chain.

Amazon, $33.99
Nothing is more classic and high-end than a black Chanel bag. And obviously, since we're on a budget, we should choose from the more affordable options in the knockoff marketplace. The one above is from Amazon. Classic and toned-down accessories like inspired Chanel bags give you the appearance of looking spoiled. Designer-inspired accessories are an easy way of making your outfits look more expensive.

5. Get nude pointed toe pumps.

Jessica Simpson, $59.95
The key to keeping down your costs when leveling up as a sugar baby is to choose accessories that can easily be mixed and matched. Nude pumps are far more versatile than plain black pumps. They go with almost any color and they're a great way to dress up jeans and a tee (for the days when you don't want to get totally dolled up just for a Target run). If you don't already own a pair, check out DSW. Amazon is also a great place to find affordable heels.

6. Use Shein for basic cocktail dresses.

Lori Harvey

Shein, $10.49
We've spoken a lot about elegance and modesty but as a sugar baby, your main attraction is your sex appeal. This is where it's necessary to own a form-fitting cocktail dress. And when it comes to buying  simple cocktail dresses, there's no reason to buy anywhere else than Shein, because there's no need to spend more than $15 to $20. They have tons of black cocktail dresses that don't actually look cheap! (*gasp*).

But remember, though you're weaponizing your femininity and sex appeal when hunting for a sugar daddy, keep it classy. When searching for cocktail dresses, absolutely do not buy a tight mini dress. As an aspiring sugar baby, you are not looking for a one-night stand: you are looking for a long-term arrangement. Men of means want someone they can proudly take out in public. Real men of means have reputations they want to uphold. Draw them in with subtle sex appeal show but that you're an ideal candidate by not showing off too much skin.

7. Buy simple CZ earrings and a CZ ring from AliExpress.

AliExpress, $3.05
Simple is elegant. When it comes to jewelry, you most definitely don't need to do a lot and you don't need fine jewelry. A simple faux tennis bracelet and CZ earrings will give the exact impression you need. Furthermore, classy class costume jewelry signal to POTs that you are not cheap. Again, it's about attracting men of means and repelling salt and splenda. Even if your jewelry is obviously fake, the sparkle and gleam of the jewelry creates an illusion of high-worth and a woman that cannot be cheapened.

AliExpress has loads of affordable glitzy faux diamond jewelry. Yes, it will take 3 to 4 weeks for delivery but it's worth it. We don't want to break the bank.
